Foundations of Runway Styling with Michael Bowman Jr.

In this day long, hands-on class, stylists will learn how to prep and dress hair to get the best possible results in any editorial, fashion, or formal styling. Review and explore the foundations for hairstyling in a more critical light. Attention will be given to the creation of a look as well as transforming and adapting one look into another. Informative and immersive for anyone looking to explore freelancing in the Runway or Editorial industry. Stylists will also gain a deeper working knowledge of dry styling which can be utilized behind the chair for bridal and formal styles.
All work will be done on Live models & photographed for stylist’s portfolio.

Michael Bowman specializes in hair coloring and balayage while behind the chair at Brooklyn’s Rob Peetoom salon. However, his talent does not stop there - he has a penchant for editorial styling and frequently collaborates on New York Fashion Week shows, creating looks that range from classic to high fashion to avant-garde.
Michael leads courses that inspire innovation through both boldness and subtlety. Drawing from over a decade of experience, Michael is passionate about creating confident looks that augment each client’s personal definition of beauty, and his teaching techniques reflect these principles.
